Analysis:

After suffering a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool last weekend and dropping off the top spot, Manchester United will want to win this match and get their defence back on track.

United will want to forget the bad experience at Anfield and with Blackburn lying in 16th in the table and having being thrashed by Chelsea 5-0, United will look to do the same here as well.

But United have had problems against teams at the lower end of the table previously at home this season. They beat Bolton 2-1, two weeks ago and had it not been for a good save from Ben Foster from Christian Benitez ensured United beat newly promoted Birmingham 1-0.

Then came the 2-2 draw with Sunderland at home early October then you'd realized how Ferguson is displeased with his side's performance this season to date.

For the visitors, they have been hit by allegations of swine flu with even Allardyce is said to be suffering from the virus. But the manager will be hoping that David Dunn will be fit enough to feature this weekend.

As for the team news of United, Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic are both struggling with calf injuries while Ryan Giggs could miss out here with a knee injury. Ferguson could choose to bring on Jonny Evans and Wes Brown after they helped United to a clean sheet in midweek. Park Ji-Sung is expected to be sidelined with a swollen knee for a few more weeks while Darren Fletcher is out with a groin injury still. Gary Neville is suspended after his red card while Danny Welbeck, who opened the scoring against Barnsley, is out with a knee injury.

Summer signing Gabriel Obertan made his debut against Barnsley and could feature once again. Michael Owen who came off the bench against Liverpool and scored in midweek against Barnsley could start instead of Dimitar Berbatov. Owen Hargreaves who is still not match fit is not expected back until next week.

As for Blackburn, defender Christopher Samba is still struggling with swine flu but Dunn appears to have shaken off the virus after coming on in the 70th minute in the 5-2 Carling Cup win over Peterborough on Tuesday.

However Jason Roberts is the latest Rovers player to show signs that he has swine flu after being sent home last Friday. Pascal Chimbonda (calf) and Vince Grella (thigh) is out so Michel Salgado will once again start at right back. Striker Franco Di Santo returns to the side after he was ineligible to play against his parent club Chelsea last weekend.
