Analysis:This will be the second time these two sides are meeting in four days following their Carling Cup clash last Wednesday. Chelsea were the winners in midweek as they won 4-0 and now Carlo Ancelotti will aim for a repeat here when his side travel to the Reebok Stadium and maintain their position on top of the standings.
Chelsea had the likes of Salomon Kalou, Florent Malouda, Deco and Didier Drogba all on target in midweek and it will not be easy for Gary Megson side to contain the attacking minded strikers from scoring once again.
Bolton must take note that the six times that the Blues have faced back-to-back league and cup games in the last 15 years, the result has been repeated on four times at least. After the midweek Carling Cup, both sides are expected to ring the changes here. They will welcome back players that were rested in the League Cup back.
The visitors will welcome back Nicholas Anelka to face his former club as he teams up with strike partner Didier Drogba once again, and in-form midfielder Frank Lampard will also return to the side after being an unused substitute in midweek. Petr Cech will return to the side to replace Hilario and Joe Cole could keep his place after impressing on his last two outings.
Captain John Terry will also return in the centre of defence with Ricardo Carvalho likely to partner him. Salomon Kalou and Branislav Ivanovic are doubts, while Ashley Cole (ankle), Jose Bosingwa (knee), Yury Zhirkov (knee) and John Mikel Obi (knee)misses out due to injuries.
For the host Bolton, striker Kevin Davies will return to the attacking lineup. He has scored five goals against Chelsea in his career so his experience can be vital here. Ivan Klasnic is likely to be his partner as he played against Chelsea in midweek and also was on target against Everton last weekend.
Ig Megson decides to include him in the lineup then he could employ a 4-4-2 formation here.
