CSKA Moscow v Terek Grozny
Football: Russian Premier League 2009/2010
Friday, 30th October 2009. Kickoff 16:00

CSKA Moscow (5th) Home 7-1-4 22:11

Medieval scenes around CSKA’s camp as team’s supporters attacked club’s bus after the shameful 1-3 loss to Moskva. A defeat which sent Juande Ramos back to Spain after just two months spent at the post. Leonid “Russian Mourinho” Slutsky has been appointed instead, signing a 3 year contract. Former Krylia Sovetov specialist ironically is set to face the team, which virtually served as a determinative point of his career in Samara. Guilherme and Mark Gonzalez are injured. Right back Chidi Odiah is suspended.

A lot of changes are expected in the line up. As we say in Russia, every broom brooms its own way. Certainly Anton Grigoryev will not play at the problematic left back position, I would tip Georgy Schennikov to start their. Alexey Berezutsky or Deividas Semberas should deputize for suspended Odiah on the right flank of defense. Daniel Carvalho, who played as a left midfielder may never find himself in the 18 man squad; Nika Piliev is expected to feature; Mamaev and Aldonin will combine in the centre of midfield –sending veteran Rahimic to the bench;

Tactic/Mood/Confidence
CSKA will attack, no doubt about it, especially against such comfortable opponents such as Terek. With Necid being the only option in attack – look for many crosses to be sent in search of the tall striker, a system which Slutsky loved so much at Krylia, where Jan Koller was Necid’s prototype.

Hard to tell, if another coach change in the last 2 months will have a positive effect on team’s mood. Obviously arrival of a Russian speaking specialist should do a good job, but at the same time problems have been building for quite some time and can’t be solved immediately.

Last match analysis.
In the last match against Moskva CSKA were hammered 0-3 in the first half. It could have been much worse, but never the less the record was broken – Army men have never lost with such a huge handicap in Russian championships before. Sadly nothing changed after the break, Moskva continued punishing CSKA on the break and only Akinfeev’s individual efforts helped his team mates avoid more goals. Tomas Necid scored with 2 minutes to go in the match.

Some of Juande Ramos decisions just showed that he doesn’t know a thing about Russian Premier league opponents. Moskva, which has one of the most dangerous and lethal wingers in the championship, received pitiful Anton Grigoryev and Daniel Carvalho on the left and Chidi Odiah on the right. As a result CSKA were virtually torn apart by Samedov and Cesnauskis. Attack continued to be toothless with Krasic and Dzagoev playing on their own.

Terek Grozny (10th) Away 2-3-7 6:21

Terek Grozny is coming off a logical and predictable 0-2 loss in Samara to Krylia Sovetov. Daniel Pancu has served his suspension and is available. Shahin Diniev had his first match as the caretaker of the team after Vyacheslav Grozny unexpectedly resigned. 2 consecutive defeats start to put some pressure on the team. Speedy winger Florentin Petre is suspended.

Diniev did not change anything in team’s formation and unlikely he will be revolutionizing in Moscow either. Petre’s absence may offer Daniel Pancu the chance to start in midfield, or the manager can opt for youth system product Adlan Kacaev. Diniev is a former head coach of Terek’s reserve side, so he is well aware of youngsters capabilities. Argentinean Hector Bracamonte did not even make the line-up in the previous match.

Tactic/Mood/Confidence.
Terek has one of the worst away records in the league with an overall of only 6 scored goals on the road. This is the best illustration of just how the team plays away from Grozny.

Vyacheslav Grozny’s departure came a surprise for the team, in my opinion, and they still need some time to recover emotionally and adapt to the new standards of new specialist.

Last match analysis.
In the previous league game against Krylia Sovetov Terek enjoyed a positive start as they created some danger at the far end. However reckless defending lead to a conceded goal from Vladislav Ignatiev in the first half. After the interval the match continued to be an equal contest right until a classical second goal was received late in the game, when Terek pushed forward in numbers for the desired draw.

Chechen team looked relaxed going into the match. Diniev brought back veteran defender Cleber to the centre of the back line, but the Brazilian did not live up to expectations. Florentin Petre was also given a starting position on the pitch. The Romanian winger served as a substitute joker for Vyacheslav Grozny and used to come on in the second half to apply pressure with his forward runs. However Petre was taken off after an unconvincing first half performance.

Betting advice

CSKA will eat ground in order to recover for the loss to Moskva and get back the fans on their side.Taking Terek's dreadful away record, I think the bet is quite obvious.
