Sampdoria have drawn the last two Serie A games, and like all good Italian clubs they are furious at perceived injustices, at refereeing mistakes and unawarded penalties.
The club president Riccardo Garrone has said "Evidently since we’ve been at the top our presence has irritated some people" as he all but accuses the referees and Italian Football Federation of cheating. But this is all run-of-the-mill stuff in Italy.
More serious is that top scorer Giampaolo Pazzini has fractured his nose and will not play, while Marco Padalino sits out a one-match ban following his red card.
Still, Sampdoria will be fired up for this game on Saturday afternoon and I expect to see the home side put in a top effort.

Meanwhile Bologna have reacted to their 1-2 loss at Napoli last weekend by sacking manager Giuseppe Papadopulo and installing new boss Franco Colomba.
Bologna will be without several key players as Massimo Mutarelli, Davide Bombardini, Andrea Raggi and Santos will all miss this game - and I just cannot see any "new manager" bounce in this game.
