With only 6 games to go Bohs face Drogheda in a crucial game for both sides affecting both ends of the table. Bohs who have led the league for most of the season were last week beaten 1-0 by arch rivals Shamrock Rovers who overtook them at the top of the table by 2 points leaving a fascinating finish to the season to come over the next few weeks.
Champions Bohs were 7 points clear at one stage last month but 3 defeats in there last 5 league outings have left them in second place to Rovers. Up until then Bohs looked odds on the retain their title and had being looking very solid and not conceding many goals and giving out some thumpings including a 5-0 win over Galway last month.
Drogheda meanwhile have begun to struggle again after improving in the middle part of the season and find themselves in the releagation play off position in second last. They are 5 points clear of bottom side Bray and 2 points behind second from bottom Sligo.
Drogheda had started the season terribly, taking them to the 11th game to get a win in which time they managed only 3 points. But they started to get a few vital wins in but have managed only 1 win in their last 5 and that was over bottom side Bray.
What may be encouraging for Drogheda is the fact they have a better record away from home with 4 wins and 3 draws with just 2 wins and 7 draws at home.
However Bohs are still a top side and although Drogheda need the points here, Bohs will be seething after last weeks defeat and Drogheda could very well get the backlash of this.
Leaders Shamrock Rovers face a very tough test away at third place Derry City and if they fail to win then the Bohs can go back top with a win here.
Bohs will be without the suspended Gary Deegan in midfield and defender Mark Rossitter picked up an injury in last weeks defeat at Rovers.
