Analysis:Chelsea comes into this match with a 100% record while the host Wigan were beaten 4-0 in their last match against Arsenal. Since Carlo Ancelotti arrived he has won all six of his matches with Chelsea and will look to extend that record today.
But the host Wigan has a poor record with Chelsea as they have lost all their previous seven meeting against Chelsea. They have also lost all of their previous four home games at home so it is a difficult task against the visitors Chelsea in this match.
Wigan comes into this match in poor form also having been beaten in 10 out of their last 14 games. They have also scored only 7 goals in their last 12 games so they are poor upfront as well. They depend too much on Hugo Rodallega as he has scored five of those 7 goals.
Wigan has a fully squad but will not have the services of on-loan Scott Sinclair in ineligible to feature against his parent club. Roberto Martinez is expected to make changes after their defeat to Arsenal by naming Jason Scotland upfront to pair alongside in-form Rodallega.
We could also see Paul Scharner partnering Hendy Thomas in midfield after he came off the bench last week. In goal we will see Chris Kirkland keep his place while Wigan's back four of Maynor Figueroa, Emmerson Boyce, Titus Bramble and Mario Melchiot will all be retained.
As for Chelsea, they will make changes after the win over QPR in midweek with Nicholas Anelka up front and he should partner Didier Drogba who should be fit despite injuring his calf against Tottenham.
Petr Cech will replace Hilario with Ashley Cole, John Terry, Jose Bosingwa and Ricardo Carvalho all returning to the first team action.
Joe Cole and Yuri Zhirkov will return to the bench despite starting out in midweek against QPR. But definitely out of this match will be Daniel Sturridge and Deco ho are out with calf strains.
