PREVIEW
Low-scoring Salisbury City (22nd) take on fellow basement dwellers Chester City (24th) in what should be a low scoring affair.
I’ve changed my tact slightly with this fixture, with choosing a winner in my opinion pretty difficult. Instead, looking at the stats between the two sides I’m plumping for total goals Under 2.5.
And here are the stats that are the basis for my choice;
Firstly, None of Salisbury’s 5 home matches have exceeded 2.5 goals, with an Over/Under ratio of 0/5.
Salisbury City Home record : 2-2-1 5:3
1-0 v Kidderminster
0-1 v Mansfield Town
1-1 v Eastbourne Borough
1-1 v Luton Town
2-0 v Grays Athletic
Secondly, Salisbury City host a Chester side that have only scored 2 goals on their travels in 4 games, with an Over/Under ratio of 1/3.
Chester City Away record : 0-3-1 2:6
0-4 v Oxford Utd
0-0 v Luton Town
1-1 v Altrincham
1-1 v Eastbourne Borough
The first match was against an almost unstoppable (at this stage) Oxford Utd, but things started settling down after that with few goals.
The only danger I anticipate is Salisbury striker Mark Tubbs (6 goals) while Chester's leading scorer is Nick Chadwick (4 goals).
TEAM NEWS
Salisbury City :
Salisbury have striker Daniel Webb back from a one-match ban as they look for a victory which could lift them out of the bottom four.
Luke Riddick is a doubt with dental problems while Bradley Gray is still suffering a long-term ankle injury.
Chester City :
Mick Wadsworth is set to stick with the side which lost 1-0 at home to Stevenage on Saturday.
That means defender Glenn Rule will keep his place after coming through his first 90 minutes of the season
The Betting Verdict
With 8 of 9 "guide results" all finishing UNDER 2.5 GOALS I’m backing both defences to come out on top here and result in a low-scoring game.
BEST BETTING TIP :
Take Under 2.5 goals in this game
