HEARTS (10th) 0-1-2 3:6
Hearts have just 1 point from their opening 3 games and thats disappointing for a side who finished third last term and were slight favourites to do so again this time.
It was a good season for Csaba Lazslo's side last season where they managed a win over Rangers and held Celtic twice, one of those times was a 2-2 draw at Celtic Park after being 2-0 down.
But - it's been a slow start this term though as they lost to Dundee Untied in first game of the season and had Michael Stewart sent off. They led Rangers 1-0 after that but lost 2-1 after a late Rangers winner and the Gers had been down to 10 men.
Against St Johnstone last time out they led 2-1 but again conceded late as the newly promoted side earned a 2-2 draw. Their pride also took a battering in the Europa league as they lost 4-0 at Dinamo Zagreb but they managed to resore some of that pride as they won the second leg 2-0 and had chances to make it more.
Hearts will see this as a must win game to kick start their season. They will be withouth Calum Elliot (knee), Eggert Jonsson (knee), Marius Zaliuskas who is suspended but are very hopeful that both Laryea Kingston and Andrew Driver will be fit in time, the addition of those two players to the squad would make a huge difference.
KILMARNOCK (8th) 1-0-2 5:5
Killie started the season excellent with a convincing 3-0 win over Hamilton on the first day of the season. However they couldn't follow it up in the next 2 games as they were well beaten at Motherwell 3-1 and suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to St Mirren.
Boss Jim Jeffries was fuming at the Motherwell performance and his side just didnt seem to get going. However it was different against St Mirren as his side led 1-0 at half time. Killie had several chances to add to their lead but conceded twice in the second half and still had numerous chances to get level but just couldnt find the net.
More bad news for Kilmarnock is that Striker Kevin Kyle is out of action for several weeks with a knee cartilage problem which has also kept him out of the Scotland squad. They will also be without first choice keeper Alan Combe has a hip problem with which he may need surgery.
A plus for Jim Jeffries has been the form of attacking players Conor Sammon who has managed a few goals in early part of season and also David Fernandez who has been impressive.
Head to Head Last Season
Hearts 1-2 Kilmarnock
Kilmarnock 0-2 Hearts
Hearts 3-1 Kilmarnock
The Betting Verdict
Taking HEARTS TO WIN 4/5 looks like a good bet for me.
They still have a squad good enough to fight for third spot and will badly want to get their first 3 points of the season.
The Pick :
HEARTS 2-1 KILMARNOCK
BEST BETTING TIP :
Taking HEARTS TO WIN at 4/5 looks like a good bet for me.
