Analysis:

After failure to qualify for the Final against Chelsea in the FA Cup, Manchester United who fielded their second team last weekend, will come back stronger and the visitors Portsmouth can expect a backlash here.

We can expect to see the familiar names such as Edwin Van der Sar, John O'Shea, Darren Fletcher, Ryan Giggs, Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick starting here while Dimitar Berbatov, Patrice Evra and Paul Scholes who were on the bench are also expected to start this match.

Meanwhile the likes of Rafael and Fabio Da Silva, Federico Macheda, Danny Wellbeck, Ben Foster and Darren Gibson who all started at the weekend will be relegated to the bench. Thus the only survivor from the match against Everton will be Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.

Manchester United were delighted that Liverpool could only draw against Arsenal as it means that they could settle for a draw and get back to the top, but knowing Manchester United they will not be contended with a draw here.

With regards to the team news, Carrick is likely to be passed fit after a minor injury while Fletcher will come back after a hamstring injury into the side.

Portsmouth meanwhile will take this match seriously as they are fighting to stay in the Premiership as well. As it is now they are six points above the relegation zone and know that one more win would surely guarantee Premiership status next season.

Under the guidance of Paul Hart, they have been beaten just once going down 1-0 to Chelsea at Fratton Park. They are currently unbeaten in five games and conceded just four goals along the way.

They will however miss the contribution of Niko Kranjcar who plays in midfield after he was forced off with an injury to his ankle. Defender Younes Kaboul who has been filling in at right back also misses out with a thigh muscle injury.

So, this means that Glen Johnson will go back to his natural position with Jermaine Pennant coming into the side. Midfielder Sean Davis is also expected to start despite a slight wound against Bolton.

Take Manchester United to win and give the 1 1/2 ball here.

Cheers and good luck,
