2009-03-14 - Everton vs Stoke
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Analysis:Everton will be looking to claim maximum points here and close the gap to to Arsenal when they take on Stoke at Goodison Park. Though a place in Europe is pretty much secure, they are seven points adrift of Aston Villa if they hope to secure a Champions League spot.
They play their best football at home as they have lost just once in their last 11 games at home and have kept five clean sheets in their last six matches at home. Everton also have a good record against Stoke as they are unbeaten in eight games against them. They also won the initial match 3-2 at the Britannia Stadium back in September.
Stoke, who are fifth from the bottom, will have it all to do here if they are to get anything in this match. With ten games to go, they are just a point above the drop zone. Even though they are unbeaten in their last three games, but they are coming into this match with the worst away record in the Premiership with just four points from 42 points at stake.
Of all their games played away from home, they have only kept two clean sheets. In the other 12 away games they have conceded at least two or more goals in it!
But one player keen to show his former employers what he still has is striker James Beattie.
As for the injury news, Tony Hibbert misses out for the home side with a thigh problem, while James Vaughan will miss out with a knee problem. The trio of Victor Anichebe, Mikel Arteta (both knee) and Yakubu Aiyegbeni (calf) have been ruled out for the rest of the season while Nuno Valente is still bothered by a knee injury.
The visitors enter this match without any injuries to bother them. The only decision is whether to start with Ricardo Fuller after he scored the vital goal in a 2-0 win over Bolton last weekend.
I will go for Everton and give the 1 ball away here.
Cheers and good luck,
Cruiser
