The likes of Nuno Valente (knee), Steven Pienaar (hamstring) and Yakubu Aiyegbeni (calf) are also out for the home side. Leon Osman and James Vaughan are the other players out of the team. Louis Saha is back and pushing for a start.
Tim Cahill and Tony Hibbert will also start after coming back from suspension.
For WBA, Tony Mowbray will hope to have Jonas Olsson and Ryan Donk in the squad. Olsson is back after a knee injury while Donk has recovered from a groin problem. But the visitors are missing rhe likes of Jonathan Greening, Ishmael Miller and Neil Clement who are all out injured.
