2008-12-13 - Aston Villa vs Bolton
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Analysis:Aston Villa comes into this match to keep their four match unbeaten run going when they welcome the visit of Bolton Wanderers for this match at Villa Park.
In their last 4 matches, Aston Villa have managed eight points from a possible 12 points at stake and even in their last match managed to collect all three points even after it looked like they were heading for a 2-2 draw with Everton, they still managed to win that match 3-2!
That win was vital as it kept them a point behind Arsenal in fifth spot and would be waiting to overtake Arsenal if they slip up. The Villians as they are also known will start this match as the favourites as the visitors are coming into this match on the back of a 0-2 defeat to Chelsea.
However, they must be cautious here and not take Bolton for granted as seven of the last 10 meetings between the teams have ended in draws.
We could very well see Martin O'Neil keeping the same lineup that managed the last gasp win over Everton at Goodison Park for this match. Gabriel Agbonlahor will lead the line as John Carew is still out with a back problem with the likes of James Milner and Ashley Young providing support.
Milner though has been fighting off a flu virus so his positions is not certain in the side. Nigel Reo-Coker and Craig Gardner are waiting to deputise if Milner fails to make it into the first team.
The duo of Steve Sidwell and Gareth Barry will also be asked to provide support to the strikers from midfield with Stiliyan Petrov set to play a commanding role.
Luke Young is expected to be kept left-back so there will be no place in the side for former Reading defender Nicky Shorey. Villa will also welcome a number of their former players who is now plying their trade with Bolton such as Gavin McCann, Jlloyd Samuel and Gary Cahill.
As for Bolton, they are coming into this match missing only two players - Joey O'Brien and midfielder Tamir Cohen. The duo are recovering from torn muscle and other than that they have a fully fit squad.
Megson could also stick with the side that went down to Chelsea the last time out. The likes of John Elmander and Kevin Davies are expected to keep their places upfront after impressive performances. In midfield the likes of Matthew Taylor, Fabrice Muamba, McCann and Kevin Nolan will start.
