2008-11-05 - Celtic vs Manchester United
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Analysis:Manchester United will want to avoid a repeat of two season ago when they were beaten by Celtic 1-0 at Parkhead courtesy of a Shunsuke Nakamura's freekick.
Now Manchester United will aim to avenge that defeat and a win here would put them into the next round while it will eliminate Celtic from the Competition. The last time they met United won 3-0 at Old Trafford so Gordon Strachan will hope for an improvement from his side today.
The home side are short of players as the likes of Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, Georgios Samaras and Chris Killen all still missing from today's game. That means that Scott McDonald will start and Strachan is considering to start with Cillian Sheridan who came on as a substitute at Old Trafford and started Sunday's domestic match win over Hearts in midweek.
Nakamura will hope to get selected for this match while Aiden McGeady will also hope to feature at some stage after appearing as a substitute in their last match. Gary Caldwell will start in centre-half as Glenn Loovens is injured, as well as Marc Crosas for this match.
Sir Alex Ferguson will want his team to get a win here and advance tp the next stage with at least two games to go. Ben Foster is likely to start this match with Edwin Van der Sar rested.
The likes of Captain Gary Neville and Wes Brown are both out of this match so Brazilian teenager Rafael da Silva will start at right-back. Michael Carrick who played against Hull for 70 minutes is likely to keep his spot.
Darren Fletcher is keen to play on his native soil but the likes of Owen Hargreaves and Paul Scholes will not feature due to injuries. Hoping to start this match are the likes of Ryan Giggs and Park Ji-sung, while Carlos Tevez may replace Wayne Rooney in attack.
Take Manchester United to win this match and give the 3/4 ball here.
Cheers and good luck,
