Analysis:Chelsea will be looking to confirm their place in the next round when they visit the Stadio Olimpico to play against A.S Roma here today. After two wins and a draw Chelsea are the leaders in the group and will aim to get maximum points against the Italian side who have managed just three points after they beat French side Bordeaux.
A defeat for Roma would leave their qualification in jeopardy and it does not help that their form coming into this match is poor having lost their last two Serie A outings to Udinese and Juventus.
Roma comes into this match ina precarious position in Serie A, they are languishing just below the relegation zone and Chelsea are coming into this match in confident mood having beaten Sunderland 5-0 last weekend.
Roma are expected to keep faith with the same side that lost to Juventus last weekend for this match. Former Arsenal man Julio Baptista is expected to start after making his first appearance for the club since recovering from a thigh problem while David Pizarro made his first start since 13th September.
The home side are sweating on the fitness of Marco Cassetti and Alberto Aquilani who are both suffering from thigh injuries. Aquilani has not played since limping out of Roma's 1-0 defeat at Chelsea so chances of him featuring tonight is remote.
Mirko Vucinic is expected to start upfront with Baptista but he is the only player scored more than one goal this season. So scoring goals is their biggest problem for Roma this season.
For Chelsea, they will make one change as Ashley Cole is ruled out with a calf injury. Wayne Bridge will come in as his replacement after replacing him since he was taken off against Sunderland.
In attack we can expect to see Nicolas Anelka leading the line since Didier Drogba is still lacking match fitness. At the heart of defence we can expect to see Alex partnering John Terry with Ricardo Carvalho out with a hamstring strain.
