A Sports Betting Pick by Auls
Burnley
Burnley come into this game with some form and will look to take a scalp of a top league side. Burnley have beaten Bury 0-2 in the 1st round, and then knocked out Oldham here 3-0 in the last round. They have a 2-1-1 record at Turf Moor this season.
The last 6 games have seen Burnley remain undefeated in all competitions. Their manager, Owen Coyle, has made a tactical change with the way his side is set up after conceding 7 goals in their first 2 games, and they have since started winning games. Burnley have won 2 of their last 3 games at home without conceding a goal in any of those games. They have also won 3 of their last 5 games in all competitions.
Steve Thompson is cup tied for Burnley but Chris Eagles is available again after suspension. Christian Kalvenes is also looking for a recall in place of Stephen Jordan while Ade Akinbiyi has to have a fitness test on his back injury.
Fulham
Fulham have started their Premier League campaign with decent performances at home but once again are struggling in away games where they have failed to get a point this season. They had ended last season with 3 consecutive away wins. Fulham escaped with a 3-2 home win against Leicester in the last round with a late winner from Danny Murphy.
Fulham lost at the weekend at Blackburn after winning 3 consecutive games at Craven Cottage in all competitions. They have also lost at newly promoted Fulham this season. Fulham have only kept 1 clean sheet this season and they have conceded 6 goals in their first 5 games.
It is expected that Roy Hodgeson will make a number of changes to his side for this game. Leon Andreason looks to have recovered from injury in time to take his place in the side while Dickson Etuhu could make his debut. Andy Johnson is expected to start up front as he searches for his first Fulham goal.
Head to Head
Burnley and Fulham have not met for quite some time now but Burnley did win their last 2 games at Turf Moor against the Cottagers.
Prediction
Fulham have a habit of losing to lower league sides in cup competitions and if they make the expected changes to their line up, it might make it even more difficult for them to achieve any kind of result here.
Burnley have beaten Liverpool here in recent seasons and look to be in form at just the right time. They have been solid since they made a couple of tactical changes to their formation and I am surprised they are the underdogs in this game.
I think Burnley can find a way to win this game and there is definitely some value in punting on them to do so.
The Pick :
Burnley 2-0 Fulham
BEST BETTING TIP :
Burnley WIN
