Analysis:Tottenham who are still winless will welcome the visit of Wigan and will hope to get a win here to get themselves out of the bottom if the standings after picking up just one point from four games played.
Spurs have fallen to Sunderland and Aston Villa at White Hart Lane and Juande Ramos' new-look side are nowhere near title contenders that have been expected of them in early season. Ramos however has said that he needs time and that his side can still challenge for the top four this season. Wigan will not be pushovers as they started the season well and will not want to drop further points here.
But Tottenham managed a 2-1 win over Wisla Krakow in the Uefa Cup on Thursday and will hope that is the right tonic to kick start their season. Ramos is likely to change his squad to maintain freshness in the side. The likes of Vedran Corluka and Roman Pavlyuchenkowho were cup tied against Krakow should start this match.
However, Luka Modric picked up a knee injury against Villa and could miss out once again, while Alan Hutton is still out with a foot injury. In attack we will likely see Darren Bent starting alongside Pavlyuchenko up front. This means that Fraizer Campbell will return to the bench despite coming off the bench to play against Krakow.
Steve Bruce's Wigan goes into this match unbeaten in their last three games and have so far collected four points. Last weekend they dropped two points when they were held by Sunderland 1-1 but prior to that they scored nine goals against the likes of Notts County and Hull.
The man Tottenham should be wary of is Egyptian striker Amr Zaki. Emile Heskey will be his striking partner upfront. Missing from this match will be Lee Cattermole after he was sent off against Sunderland. This means the likes of Michael Brown as well as Paul Scharner is competing for places in the side after the Austrian returned to training just last week.
Another player in contention is Jason Koumas after he underwent intensive treatment on his ankle and will be hoping to start at some point in this match.
