Philadelphia Eagles (1-1)
With a fit Mcnabb is firing then the Eagles can worry most teams but as I’ve said in a previous preview they are for me in the worst possible division as anyone from the NCF East for me can take control and while every NFL game is important, I really thing that if you start bad in this division then you are playing catch up all season and then it could be too late.
Last season saw three teams from this division make the playoffs and to be honest it could be the same again. One thing is for certain for me and that is at least two will end up in the playoffs from this league and this in itself means that you could look at the Eagles as being the team who would be the third team.
Week one saw the Eagles win easy enough with a score of 38-3 at home to the poor Rams, and last week in Dallas they lost a cracking game 41-37 and all through the game they gave themselves chances to win it and were very unlucky in the end in what was basically a shoot out and at times it was more like a basketball game with the led changing so many times.
Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0)
The Steelers are a team that should be more than capable of making the playoffs and have started the season with two wins and are top of the division, however their nearest rivals the Ravens did have a bye week last week and of course it is still early days but I would be surprised not see the Steelers top come group come the final shake up in December.
As I’ve said the Steelers have notched up two wins this season from two games. In week one they beat Houston easy enough at home 38-17 and last weekend saw them beat the improving Browns 10-7. This second game would be a bit hash to judge the Steelers on as the weather conditions were awful and they could have easily lost this game but no due to them playing bad, but just the conditions taking over and really affecting the game. However the didn’t and the win made them 2-0 and of course at the same time condemned the Browns who are a divisional rival to 0-2.
Verdict
I think this is a really hard came to call as I think it could go either way with both teams more than capable of winning this one, however the bookies don’t agree and have the Eagles and hot favourites with them being price at 1.50.
Now I haven’t backed on this following market for a while in the NFL (however love the overs in football) but this is the way I’m going and I guess it's based on the scoring power of both teams and when you see the line is at +45 then I guess you are hoping that each team gets a good three touchdowns each, which to be honest I think they are both more than capable of doing.
If you ignore the last game for the Steelers due to the weather then you have the Steelers scoring 38 points against a poor Rams team but at the same time the Rams still managed to get 17 points. The Eagles however have been involved in two high scoring game even if the did have to do both the scoring themselves v the Rams.
All that is needed in this game to win the bet is around three touchdowns each and a couple of field goals, and while the Eagles will be hoping to defend much better after giving up 41 points last weekend, I just have a feeling that this will be a high scoring game and the 1.90 on offer for over 45 points is worth the punt.
The Pick :
Over 45 points
